ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two Harrisburg men are behind bars after cocaine, ecstasy pills, and cash were allegedly found during a traffic stop, according to Altoona police.
Gregory Johnson, 49, and James Griffin were arrested Tuesday, July 14, and are now facing charges including criminal conspiracy, possession with Intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Altoona Police Department, officers from the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Tyrone Police Department, and Blair County Drug Task Force were assisting State Police with an unrelated incident around 9th St and Federal Alley Tuesday. As they were in the area, officers noticed a black Dodge Durango arrive and park along 9th Street.
Troopers allegedly recognized the vehicle from a previous surveillance watch, prompting police to stop the SUV for a traffic violation after it left the area. Police said that as they conducted the stop, the driver, Johnson, became angry and threatened the officer, prompting both him and his passenger, Griffin, to be taken from the vehicle and detained.
