Blotter: Theft by deception, aggravated assault, crashes

Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 6:45 a.m. Sept. 8, a crash occurred while traffic signals at Route 22 and South Pine Grove Street were not functioning properly. A 2025 Chevrolet Trax driven by a 26-year-old Myerstown woman was traveling north on South Pine Grove Street, and a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 60-year-old Hershey woman was traveling east on SR 22, both approaching the intersection. The Trax stopped at the flashing red signal as required and then pulled into the intersection, where it was struck by the Silverado. LifeLion EMS responded and evaluated both drivers, transporting the 60-year-old Hershey woman to WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. Fire police assisted with traffic control, and CM High responded to correct the malfunctioning traffic signal.

City of Lebanon

Drug possession – Police charged Frank Schumacher, 46, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at around 1 p.m. Sept. 8 on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street.

Simple assault, harassment – Police charged Francisco Montenegro-Marte, 40, with simple assault (domestic violence-related) and harassment after an incident at around 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7 on the 1100 block of Lehman Street.

Aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct – Police charged Giovanna Berger, 22, after an incident at around 2:15 p.m. Aug. 31 on the 500 block of State Drive…
