CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA (WHP) — PPL Electric announced plans to rebuild more than 12 miles of existing electrical line to meet existing and growing demand for electricity while supporting new central Pennsylvania customer connections.
The utility provider announced plans to provide a “necessary upgrade” to about 12.4 miles of an existing 230-kilovolt transmission line stretching across Cumberland, York, and Dauphin counties.
PPL said the rebuilt lines will switch from a single-circuit configuration to a double-circuit one. The new structures will be designed to be stronger and more weather-resistant.
