CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Law enforcement is searching for a Cumberland County inmate who walked away from his work release program on Thursday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s office is searching for Ryan Varner, 42, after he walked away from his work release location at Valk Manufacturing Company at 66 East Main Street in New Kingstown. He was last seen at the location at 3:05 p.m.
Varner is described by the sheriff’s office as a bald, white male with blue eyes standing 6 ft tall, and weighing 300 lbs.

The Sheriff’s office said Varner has been incarcerated at the Cumberland County Prison since May 7, 2026, following a DUI conviction.
