Teen charged with attempted homicide in Dauphin County incident involving gun

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A teenager is facing attempted homicide and other charges after police say he pointed a gun at a minor at a birthday party in Dauphin County.

Lower Paxton Township Police said that 16-year-old Liam McMillen, of Camp Hill, is charged as an adult with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor. He is locked up in Dauphin County Prison with his bail denied, online court dockets show.

McMillen showed up uninvited to the party, at the 2700 block of English Court in the Harrisburg area, and pointed a gun at a juvenile after getting into a brief verbal argument, according to police. He then left the scene before police were dispatched just before 10:30 p.m.

According to the charging documents, McMillen got upset about a comment that was made about him and pulled out a gun, then pointed it at the juvenile, and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. Police were able to watch a video of the incident and spoke with witnesses at the scene.
