PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Nearly 50 charges were filed against a man accused of leading a high-speed police chase in a pickup truck Thursday morning throughout parts of Perry and Dauphin counties.
After being taken into custody, Joshua Hickey, 45, of Willow Street, Lancaster County, allegedly said the reason he tried evading Pennsylvania State Police is that he was scared and “does not like sitting in a jail cell,” according to the affidavit of probable cause. He mentioned how he was building a family and business.
Pennsylvania State Police at Newport said in the affidavit that Hickey was spotted driving a white 2008 Dodge pick-up by a Trooper just before 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 322 in Howe Township. A Trooper learned Hickey had a warrant and saw the truck touch the fog line twice, leading to a traffic stop.
