A vegetation fire in Contra Costa County that broke out Friday night southwest of Martinez scorched about 11 acres as of Saturday morning, according to Cal Fire.
The fire was referred to by Cal Fire as the Franklin Fire because it erupted off Franklin Canyon Road, which runs parallel to state Highway 4 in the area. The conflagration was reported at about 10 p.m.
