The historic waterfront Tomales Bay property that includes the famed Marshall Store restaurant is up for sale for the first time.
The 2,500-foot stretch of shoreline spans 16.7 acres and includes four parcels and multiple buildings. Offered at $13 million, the Bay Area land has been owned by the Vilicich family for generations. Other tenants besides the Marshall Store include Point Reyes Oyster Co., Marshall Boat Works and the Marshall U.S. Post Office, as well as residences.
There are also two docks.
A brochure shared with SFGATE shows just below $400,000 in operating revenue for the property, with expenses around $250,000. There are opportunities for further development for the potential buyer, since three of the parcels are zoned for commercial use.
The Marshall Store was named one of the New York Times’ top 50 restaurants in America in October 2021. National publicity catapulted the local Marin County favorite into the spotlight, and it’s still hard to find an empty seat most weekends.
