(KRON) — A man was arrested on Saturday night after allegedly stabbing someone during a violent altercation in the self-checkout area of a Redwood City Safeway. The Redwood City Police Department said it received several 911 calls reporting an altercation involving a stabbing and possible shooting at the Safeway located at 1071 El Camino Real.
Arriving at the scene, officers were directed to the suspect by witnesses and detained him without incident. He was identified as 31-year-old Isidro Zamora-Cisneros of Redwood City.

Officers at the scene also found a man suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen and several additional wounds “consistent with an edged weapon assault,” police said. Redwood City Fire Department personnel also responded and provided medical assistance to the victim.
Further investigation revealed that two victims were in the store’s self-checkout area when the suspect approached the male victim and began assaulting him with the knife, apparently at random. The other victim, a woman, used a shopping cart to try and fend off the attacker…
