Model Warns Others After Fake Photographer Boyfriend Left Her Covered in Blood

Additional Coverage:

Disturbing footage has emerged showing a tearful model covered in blood as she desperately sought help after a brutal assault by her ex-boyfriend, who had deceived her by posing as a professional photographer.

Rachel Bambrough, 31, from West Cornforth, County Durham, has come forward to share her story as a cautionary tale for other women. She was manipulated by Christopher Worrall, 38, who pretended to be a photographer to gain her trust and start a relationship. Over three years, Rachel was unaware that Worrall had only recently purchased a camera and was not the professional he claimed to be.

Their relationship ended violently in March last year when, following a night out, Worrall attacked Rachel at his home. The assault included punching her and throwing a glass, resulting in significant injuries requiring eight staples to her head and hospital treatment for suspected jaw damage. Chilling doorbell camera footage captured Rachel arriving at her mother’s home, soaked in blood and sobbing, pleading for help.

Rachel explained that despite recognizing warning signs-including using Clare’s Law to check his past-she was convinced by Worrall’s assurances that he had changed. She recounted covering for him after previous violent incidents and being blinded by love, which kept her trapped in the relationship.

Now a mother of two, Rachel is undergoing therapy for anxiety and depression while raising her children alone. She hopes that by speaking out about her experience, she can encourage others facing domestic abuse to seek help and realize they are not alone.

Christopher Worrall pleaded guilty to section 20 assault at Durham Crown Court and was sentenced on June 19 to 15 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work, 25 hours of rehabilitation, pay court costs and a victim surcharge, and is subject to a five-year restraining order.

Rachel remains determined to raise awareness about domestic violence, urging others to recognize warning signs and find the strength to come forward. “I want to take control of my story and show the real impact of what he did,” she said.
