A harrowing 911 call has come to light, capturing a husband’s desperate plea for help after discovering his wife severely injured and unconscious in their New Jersey home.
On June 6, James “Conor” Hanlon contacted emergency services after finding his wife, Brooke Hanlon, a psychotherapist, bloodied and unresponsive on the floor of their Chester residence. In the distressing call, James urgently asked for CPR instructions, saying, “I just found my wife… I need CPR instructions,” followed by a frantic, “I need you here immediately.”
The 911 operator inquired if Brooke was conscious, to which James replied, “No.” His voice filled with panic, he exclaimed, “Oh my god, oh my god.”
Currently residing in Massachusetts with their newborn child, Conor has retained legal counsel and is cooperating with investigators, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The emergency call, made around 4 p.m., was initially logged as a “suspicious death,” with some dispatch records indicating a report of cardiac or respiratory arrest. Responding officers were later informed of a large laceration on Brooke’s breast.
Neighbors described Conor as someone who had lived in the area for about a year and communicated occasionally about local wildlife. “There was a lot of activity out there on the 6th,” one neighbor said.
Brooke, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed any suspects in the ongoing investigation. The couple had recently welcomed their first child, who remains in Conor’s care.
A week after Brooke’s death, the Morris County Medical Examiner concluded the autopsy, determining that she died from multiple sharp force injuries and that her death was a homicide. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, along with local law enforcement, continues to investigate the tragic case.
