Jack White Extends a Hand to Satanic Duo After They’re Dropped from Country Tour

Jack White, the acclaimed musician and Grammy winner, has offered an opening slot for his upcoming Los Angeles concert to Twin Temple, a band recently removed from country artist Charley Crockett’s tour due to their Satanic imagery and themes.

The controversy began when Twin Temple, a duo known for their blend of vintage rock and occult aesthetics, was pulled from two dates on Crockett’s tour. Their association with Satanism reportedly clashed with the country singer’s values.

In response, White took to Instagram on July 10 to invite Twin Temple to open for him at the Hollywood Palladium later this September. He signed off the post with the playful line, “Get in front of me Satan!”

Twin Temple expressed deep appreciation for White’s gesture, calling themselves lifelong fans. “Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground” by White’s former band was among the first songs Alex James learned on guitar. The duo, Alexandra and Zachary James, also mentioned they had already planned to attend White’s show, adding, “It would be a most infernal pleasure to play the devil’s music with you.”

Known for their “subversive blend of vintage rock & roll, occult aesthetics and dark theatrical flair,” Twin Temple describes their sound as spreading an “unholy gospel,” proving “the Devil always has the best tunes.”

Charley Crockett, meanwhile, responded indirectly with a pointed social media post shortly after White’s offer: “F— TRUMP, F— EPSTEIN, BUT HAIL SATAN? NOT ME JACK.” He later elaborated that he would not apologize for his decision to drop Twin Temple, emphasizing his refusal to conform.

Currently, Crockett’s Instagram features only a single post-a movie poster for Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners,” which he praised as his favorite film from the previous year.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions in the music world where artistic expression and personal beliefs sometimes collide. Jack White’s support for Twin Temple underscores his willingness to stand behind fellow musicians, even amid controversy.
