Law enforcement officials confirmed that Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills mansion was the site of a burglary on Sunday, following the theft of a vehicle from the property.
Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to a residential burglary call just before 4 p.m. at the 24800 block of Long Valley Road. Upon arrival, they found an adult male at the scene and took him into custody.
Kardashian, 45, along with her four children, were not residing in the home at the time as it is currently undergoing renovations.
The suspect, identified as Trey Mendel, was reportedly seen loading several items into a vehicle on the property, according to the Los Angeles Times. Authorities confirmed that Mendel was arrested on charges of burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody.
Officials noted that the stolen vehicle did not belong to Kardashian. The investigation is ongoing and will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution. Investigators have encouraged anyone with additional information to contact the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.
Representatives for Kardashian have not responded to requests for comment.
Kardashian and her ex-husband, Kanye West, originally purchased the Hidden Hills estate in 2014 for an estimated $20 million. Following their divorce, finalized in November 2022, Kardashian bought out West’s interest in the property for $23 million. She continues to live at the residence with their four children: North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm.
