Costco Fans Rejoice as Twisted Churros Make a Limited-Time Return to Food Courts

Costco enthusiasts who have longed for the return of a popular treat can finally celebrate. The warehouse giant announced on Friday that its twisted churros will be back in U.S. food courts for a limited time, ending months of speculation following a social media tease.

Earlier this week, Costco stirred curiosity with a cryptic Instagram video featuring employees discussing a mystery menu item, its name cleverly bleeped out. Fans quickly flooded the comments with guesses ranging from combo pizza topped with meat and vegetables to Polish hot dogs and acai bowls. Many correctly identified the cinnamon-sugar churro, which was discontinued earlier this year.

“The Churro is BACK in U.S. food courts for a limited time!” Costco declared.

“Look out for it at your local warehouse over the coming weeks as exact launch dates vary.” The beloved treat is expected to be priced at $1.49, the same as before it was pulled.

Social media erupted with excitement. One Instagram user wrote, “Dreams do come true,” while another simply exclaimed, “FINALLY.” Parents shared their children’s delighted reactions, with one mom commenting on her child’s joyful scream.

However, not everyone was pleased with the limited-time nature of the return. Some pleaded for the churro to become a permanent fixture, with one user demanding, “NO.

YOU KEEP IT ON THERE!” Another hoped the limited run would last “the next 50 years.”

There was also some disappointment that the original straight churro, a staple since the 1990s and priced at 99 cents, was not making a comeback. Instead, the twisted variation introduced in 2021 is the one returning.

Alongside calls for other favorites, like the combo pizza, fans continue to closely watch Costco’s evolving food court offerings. This year, the retailer introduced nationwide chicken tenders and a hot dog-and-water-bottle combo, while testing other new items. Earlier attempts to satisfy churro cravings included mini churro bites served with caramel sundaes, but many shoppers said it wasn’t quite the same as the full-sized version.

The length of the twisted churro’s availability remains uncertain. Costco has yet to provide details on how long fans can enjoy the treat once again.

Costco’s food court, known for its low prices and dedicated following, continues to keep customers eagerly anticipating what’s next on the menu.
