Elon Musk’s Voter Lottery Lawsuit Moves to Federal Court

Despite a court order, Elon Musk did not attend a Philadelphia hearing on Thursday regarding his super PAC’s controversial plan to award $1 million a day to voters.

District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a lawsuit against Musk, claiming the lottery violates state laws on illegal lotteries and election interference.

Musk’s attorneys have moved the case to federal court, and a judge has granted their request. Sources say a federal judge is unlikely to take up the matter immediately.

Krasner’s office plans to contest the move to federal court, arguing that the case involves state law issues.

Musk, a supporter of former President Trump, has donated heavily to the super PAC, which aims to support Republican candidates. At least 12 people, including four from Pennsylvania, have received $1 million awards.

The Justice Department has also sent a warning letter to the super PAC, suggesting it may be violating federal laws on paying voters.
