Guy Fieri Faces Backlash After Shaking Hands with Controversial Andrew Tate

Food Network personality Guy Fieri is facing significant criticism after being seen socializing with controversial figures Andrew and Tristan Tate at a recent UFC event.

The 58-year-old “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” host was photographed shaking hands and chatting with the brothers at UFC 327, held on April 11, 2026, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The event also attracted notable attendees, including former President Donald Trump. A video circulating on social media shows Fieri engaging with Andrew and Tristan Tate prior to the fight card.

Many fans quickly expressed outrage over Fieri’s association with the Tates, who have been widely condemned due to serious allegations including human trafficking and sexual assault-charges they deny. Social media users were particularly vocal, branding Fieri a “scumbag” and calling for boycotts of the Food Network in response.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, aged 39 and 37 respectively, were arrested in Romania in 2022 on sex trafficking charges but have since been released. Andrew Tate is scheduled to face a civil trial in the UK on June 22, where he will confront accusations of sexual violence, abuse, and coercive control brought by four women, which he also denies.

Critics questioned how Fieri, who has built a brand centered on an approachable, “everyman” persona, could align himself with the Tates, known for promoting misogynistic views. Many pointed out that the Food Network’s core audience is predominantly female, making the association particularly jarring.

One social media user commented, “Guy Fieri is dead to me now. MAGA is bad enough, Andrew Tate is worse again.”

Another remarked, “It’s disappointing to see Fieri connecting with someone accused of human trafficking and rape, especially given the network’s female viewership.” Others accused Fieri of hypocrisy, noting his “good guy” image is undermined by his friendly interactions with individuals facing serious allegations.

At the UFC event, Fieri was seen sporting his trademark spiky hair, a red leather jacket over a black t-shirt, accessorized with chains and sunglasses. He was also observed smoking a cigar from his seat during the event.

This is not the first time Fieri has drawn criticism for his associations. In 2023, he faced backlash after being photographed greeting Donald Trump at a UFC event in Las Vegas.

As the controversy unfolds, many fans are calling for clarity from Fieri and the Food Network regarding this unexpected connection.
