Nadia Farès, celebrated for her compelling role in the psychological thriller The Crimson Rivers, enjoyed a distinguished acting career spanning several decades with numerous film and television credits.

Tragically, Farès passed away after being found unconscious in a swimming pool at an upscale gym in Paris on April 11. While swimming laps at the exclusive facility located in the Blanche and Montmartre district, she suddenly lost consciousness.

A fellow swimmer administered CPR before emergency responders transported her to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. Despite being placed in a medically induced coma, Farès suffered a cardiac arrest and died on April 17.

Her daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman, confirmed the news in a statement expressing profound sorrow: “It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Farès this Friday. France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother we have just lost.”

Farès had been open about her health challenges, having undergone brain surgery for an aneurysm in 2007 and three heart operations within a span of four years. Authorities are investigating her death, which is currently not considered suspicious.

Regarding her financial legacy, Farès is estimated to have had a net worth between $5 million and $10 million, accumulated through her acting, endorsements, and producing work.

Nadia Farès gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Fanny Ferreira in the 2000 thriller The Crimson Rivers, directed by Mathieu Kassovitz and starring Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel. Her career included roles in both French and English-language productions, such as the 2007 action thriller War alongside Jason Statham and Jet Li. Her latest film, Toujours Possible, was released last year, and she was preparing to make her directorial debut with an action comedy in collaboration with Studios TF1.

Throughout her career, Farès appeared in numerous films including On the Line, Storm Warning, The Ex-Wife of My Life, The Next, and A Monkey’s Tale. She was also known for her television work, notably her role as Vanessa d’Abrantes in 14 episodes of the popular drama Marseille.

Born in Morocco in 1968, Farès was raised in Nice before moving to Paris to pursue her artistic ambitions. She began her acting career in the early 1990s, working with esteemed directors like Alexandre Arcady, Claude Lelouch, and Bernie Bonvoisin. Her first on-screen appearance was in 1990 on the French crime drama Navarro, and her first film role came in 1992 in the French-Belgian comedy Les amies de ma femme (My Wife’s Girlfriends).
