Kid Rock Asserts Online “Suppression” While Promoting Upcoming Freedom 250 Tour

Controversial country-rock artist Kid Rock, 55, recently addressed claims of being “suppressed” on social media as he launched promotion for his Freedom 250 Tour. Posting a video to his X account on April 24, Kid Rock offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at his Nashville office while highlighting the upcoming tour, which commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States. The tour kicks off in Dallas, Texas, on May 1 and concludes in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on June 20.

In the video, Kid Rock explained that he feels musicians like himself face suppression online, likely due to his outspoken conservative political views and vocal support for former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. He also gave a shoutout to his 32-year-old son, Robert James Ritchie Jr., who helps manage his social media presence.

“My son – who I could not be more proud of – holds down two jobs while taking care of a family, helps me with my social media because that’s what he does,” Kid Rock said. He added that his son advised him to include “juicy content” to boost engagement and avoid being filtered out by algorithms.

During the roughly five-minute video, Kid Rock showcased his expansive office space, which includes a lounge, kitchen, recording studio, and even a pickleball court. He also displayed personal memorabilia such as a customized Zoltar machine, a grand baby piano reportedly signed by Elton John, and a vintage 1964 Pontiac Bonneville convertible.

In addition to the Freedom 250 Tour, Kid Rock is headlining the Rock The Country music festival, often dubbed the “MAGA festival.” The festival runs from May 1 in Bellville, Texas, through September 12 in Hamburg, New York.

However, the event has seen controversy as several originally booked artists, including Ludacris, Morgan Wade, Carter Faith, Creed, and Shinedown, have withdrawn. The Anderson, South Carolina, two-day stop was canceled following these departures.

Recently, Jelly Roll also pulled out of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, show citing scheduling conflicts, with Staind stepping in as a replacement.

Kid Rock has additionally reduced ticket prices for the Rock The Country festival by 50%, aiming to attract a broader audience amid the evolving lineup.

As the artist continues to blend music with political commentary, his upcoming tour and festival remain focal points for both fans and critics alike.
