Karoline Leavitt Welcomes Baby Girl with All-Pink Nursery Reveal

Additional Coverage:

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has joyfully announced the arrival of her second child, a baby girl named Viviana. The 28-year-old and her husband, real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, 60, welcomed Viviana on May 1.

Leavitt shared the happy news on social media, posting a tender photo of herself holding her newborn in a beautifully decorated all-pink nursery. The room features elegant touches such as a luxurious Hermes blanket, a baby Bible, and Washington, D.C.-themed children’s books.

“On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt wrote. “She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister.”

The proud mother expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout her pregnancy, saying, “Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy – I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good.”

Leavitt and Riccio are also parents to nearly two-year-old son, Niko. The couple announced their growing family in December 2025 with a festive photo of Leavitt’s baby bump under a white sweater dress in front of a Christmas tree. “The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for – a baby girl coming in May 2026,” she shared at the time.

The nursery’s pink-themed décor was inspired by Leavitt’s March baby shower at Trump’s Northern Virginia golf club. The room includes pink ruffled curtains, floral bedding, pink bookshelves, and the notable Hermes Avalon Cabriole blanket in pink plaid, valued at over $1,300.

Among the nursery’s charming details are a blue bunny sculpture, a plush pink doll, and family photos. Viviana’s first books include “Her First Bible” by Melody Carlson and themed alphabet books such as “Handbags A to Z” and a Washington, D.C.

ABC book.

Leavitt also recently revealed her choice of stroller: a hot-pink Nuna model adorned with an embroidered pink bow. Nuna strollers typically retail between $750 and $1,900, with premium travel systems at the higher end of the range. Leavitt shared her excitement on Instagram in mid-April, captioning the photo, “Couldn’t help but buy the pink one,” accompanied by a reference to Stevie Wonder’s classic “Isn’t She Lovely.”

Leavitt began her maternity leave on April 24 but returned briefly for a final press briefing on April 27 following a shooting incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. While the length of her leave has not been disclosed, no official interim press secretary has been named. Instead, senior officials including Vice President JD Vance and President Donald Trump will cover press duties in her absence.

Leavitt is expected to resume her role once her maternity leave concludes, continuing her work as the White House’s public voice.
