Mother Accused of Killing Son She Believed Was Evil in Texas Case

Additional Coverage:

A mother in Everman, Texas, stands accused of killing her disabled 6-year-old son after allegedly believing he was “evil” and possessed by a demon. The disturbing case came to light following the disappearance of Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez and the subsequent discovery of human remains near the family’s former residence, about 36 miles from Dallas.

Everman Police Chief Al Brooks confirmed at a recent press conference that during a legally authorized search of the home, human remains were found. These remains have been sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic examination and identification, though officials have yet to make an official confirmation.

Noel’s mother, 41-year-old Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, reportedly practiced worship of Santa Muerte, a Mexican folk deity often linked to death and associated with drug cartels. Authorities say she believed her son was possessed and used this belief to justify severe abuse.

The timeline of Noel’s decline is troubling. Last seen in October 2022, he appeared malnourished shortly after the birth of his twin siblings.

Over the following month, Rodriguez-Singh reportedly neglected his medical needs, missing important appointments for his chronic lung disease and vision issues. Meanwhile, she applied for passports and planned travel to India for all family members except Noel.

A welfare check in March 2023 revealed further concerns when Rodriguez-Singh provided false information, claiming Noel was living with his biological father in Mexico. On another occasion, she claimed the boy had been sold at a local market.

The situation escalated when her husband allegedly stole $10,000 and disposed of a carpet believed to contain human remains. The couple fled to India with six of their children, leaving police to uncover the grim details of Noel’s case. Investigators later determined that Noel likely died about a year after he was last seen.

Rodriguez-Singh was arrested in India last spring and extradited back to the United States, but has since been declared incompetent to stand trial. The investigation into Noel’s death continues as authorities work to bring clarity and justice to this tragic case.
