Man accused of injuring flamingos on Las Vegas Strip makes first in-person court appearance

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The man accused of injuring several flamingos and stealing one from a Las Vegas Strip enclosure made his first in-person court appearance Thursday.

Mitchell Fairbarn is facing animal abuse-related charges in connection to the incident. Fairbarn did not attend previous case hearings after a judge waived his appearance in Justice Court.

Those negotiations appear to be continuing in District Court, according to his attorney. Fairbarn’s attorney requested a delay on his arraignment while she and state prosecutors finalize negotiations…
