LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Utility customers and community leaders are gathered outside the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to urge regulators to scrap NV Energy’s proposed daily demand charge and to expand opportunities for public input at this year’s consumer hearing.

Organizers said residents, seniors, workers, faith leaders and community advocates have come together to rally outside the PUCN offices in Las Vegas.

The event comes one day before the commission’s annual public hearing, scheduled for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
