Who’s that girl!? It’s the iconic Vegas Vickie herself, presiding over one of downtown’s best mixology spots. Vegas Vickie’s cocktail lounge is home to the 20-foot-tall neon sign that used to greet folks on the Fremont Street Experience decades ago. When Circa Resort & Casino owner Derek Stevens acquired the sign in 2016, he refreshed Vegas Vickie and gave her a permanent home at his new resort. Now she serves as a beacon (and great background for that only-in-Vegas pic!) to welcome guests to a lounge that has cocktails with character just like her.
Vegas Vickie’s has some of the tastiest and truly creative cocktails in the city, and they’ve just released a new seasonal menu, so let’s not waste any time getting into it!
The new signature sips all have playful names with techniques and flavor pairings that come from the culinary realm. Want something a little sweet with an opulent purple color? Try the Your Room or Mine? Elijah Craig bourbon serves as the base and a special syrup made of ube, herbal tea and soursop (a type of Asian pear) lend a kind of pastry-type flavor to the cocktail. It’s finished off with lemon and egg whites. “That syrup we make is like the ‘special sauce’ for the cocktail, lending a floral and fruity flavoring,” said lead bartender Tim Weigel.
Looking to cool down from the heat? Order up the Just One More Night. “You come and have one of these and you’ll be instantly hydrated,” Weigel says. The mix of Dos Hombres mezcal, Casamigos blanco tequila, Chareau (aloe liqueur), St-Germain, cucumber, shiso (Japanese herb) and lime results in a refreshing, vegetal and herbal flavor experience…
