LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Beaver Dam State Park closed on Thursday afternoon as a precaution with the Grapevine Fire burning in the area.
Winds expected on Friday and Saturday could reach 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.
The Grapevine Fire has burned 24,047 acres as of 8 a.m. Friday. It is 0% contained. To the east, the Kane Springs Fire is at 17,042 acres, with 50% containment.

Nevada State Parks advised people to avoid the area for their own safety and for the safety of first responders.
“If you have a camping reservation, you should have been notified of the closure. If you have not, please contact the main office in Carson City for questions regarding your upcoming trip,” a statement said. The phone number is (775) 684-2770.
