Suspect arrested after horse dragged by truck found dead in east Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a horse that was allegedly dragged by a pickup truck before being found dead in an east Las Vegas valley neighborhood last week.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, 62-year-old Guadalupe CamarilloGuarneros turned himself in at Metro headquarters on Friday, July 3. He was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of willful or malicious torture, maiming or killing of an animal.

The arrest comes days after Metro’s Animal Cruelty Section launched an investigation into a disturbing video circulating on social media.

As previously reported by 8 News Now, the video appeared to show a white single-cab pickup truck dragging a dark-colored horse with white markings through a neighborhood near Stewart Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
