‘We’ve seen a big decline’: Las Vegas Strip sightseeing businesses see decrease in visitor spending

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Small businesses that rely on tourists on the Las Vegas Strip tell 8 News Now they’re taking a financial beating this summer as a new report from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority points to a decline in visitation.

Applied Analysis put together a report for the LVCVA examining Southern Nevada’s economy in 2025. The report, which was presented at a Tuesday meeting, showed Las Vegas had the slowest visitation since 2021, reporting a 7.5% decrease comparing 2025 to 2024.

According to the LVCVA, there was a year-over-year decrease every month in 2025. Visitor spending was also down almost 8%.
