LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County’s population growth is slowing down, delaying a projected 3 million residents milestone by 10 years, according to a new population forecast from UNLV.
UNLV’s Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) released its 2026 Population Forecast, which revealed that Clark County is projected to reach 3 million residents by 2055, a 10-year difference from the 2025 Population Forecast, which projected the county would hit 3 million by 2045.

The change reflects a slower long-term growth outlook for Southern Nevada, according to UNLV. Clark County is now expected to add about 204,000 residents between 2026 and 2036, compared to last year’s forecast, which projected about 347,000 residents over the comparable period.
CBER now projects that Clark County’s annual growth rate will fall from 1.6% in 2026 to about 0.6% in 2029, then hold relatively steady through 2060…
