Carol Gilmore, 85, and Ronald Gilmore, 87, have been identified after a suspected murder-suicide at a Las Vegas nursing home left the Pahrump couple dead. The July 19 shooting initially raised questions about what happened inside the facility, but authorities have since released a clearer account.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled Carol Gilmore’s death a homicide and Ronald Gilmore’s death a suicide. Both died from gunshot wounds to the chest, according to the coroner’s findings.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said officers were called around 9 a.m. July 19 to a healthcare facility in the 5800 block of West Sunset Road. Police found the couple with apparent gunshot wounds, and homicide detectives determined that the husband shot his wife before shooting himself.
