LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County grand jury indicted a woman for murder after first responders found her daughter nonresponsive and stiff, not breathing, her lips purple and her one-year-old body covered in sores and bug bites, court records reveal.
Alivia Thrift, 26, is being held without bail at Clark County Detention Center on two charges: murder and child abuse, neglect, or endangerment resulting in substantial bodily harm.
Police say first responders arrived at Thrift’s apartment in Henderson in the middle of the night on March 24. By the time they got there, life saving measures were pointless because the baby, 14-month-old Evangelina Thrift, was “beyond help,” according to a police report.
