LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metro police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing an innocent bystander who was sitting in her vehicle at a Las Vegas intersection.
On Aug. 15, Metro police arrested 21-year-old Francisco Chairez-Hernandez on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and discharging a gun into an occupied structure or vehicle.

On Aug. 12, around 3:16 p.m., Metro police responded to a report of a woman who was shot near the intersection of East Bonanza Road and North Lamb Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found a woman inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said an armed man got out of a vehicle in a nearby parking and approached another man who was sitting at a bus stop. The suspect the shot at the man while he was running from the bus stop.
The round hit the woman, who was stopped in her vehicle at the intersection. Both men left the scene before police arrived…
