Driver over the limit before DUI crash that killed 28-year-old man, arrest report says

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A blood sample taken at a hospital indicated a 60-year-old Las Vegas man was over the legal limit for alcohol when he was involved in a crash that left another man dead, according to an arrest report.

Daylon Lamar Bernstine is charged with DUI resulting in death and reckless driving resulting in death. He is in the Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $500,000.

Bernstine’s 2007 Hyundai Sonata collided with another car as it approached a stoplight on westbound Desert Inn Road at Paradise Road on Aug. 12 just after 6 p.m. According to the arrest report, the Hyundai pushed that car partially into the intersection before driving around it and colliding with the driver’s side of a 2022 Honda driven by 28-year-old Roy Izquierdo, who died of his injuries less than two hours later at Sunrise Hospital…
