El Super Grocery Chain Opens Fifth Valley Store, Bringing 120 Jobs to North Las Vegas

A new El Super grocery store is opening near Craig Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard in North Las Vegas, bringing close to 120 jobs to the area when it debuts in September. The 32,000-square-foot store will be the fifth El Super location in the Las Vegas Valley, joining the chain’s existing stores on East Lake Mead Boulevard, East Tropicana Avenue, West Sahara Avenue and South Lamb Boulevard.

The plaza sits at the southwest corner of Craig Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard. El Super’s arrival lands in a city where 41.7% of residents identify as Hispanic or Latino, per U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts data, a demographic base that has long driven demand for the chain’s format.

The new location will feature a produce section, a full bakery and a meat department, the same combination of carnicerĂa, panaderĂa and imported-goods offerings that has defined El Super since it opened its first store in South Gate, California, in 1997. El Super was built specifically to serve Latin American communities with low-price staples, and the banner now operates over 60 stores across five states under parent company Chedraui USA.
