LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The neonatal intensive care unit at Henderson Hospital is set to close around Sept. 30, leaving staff members scrambling to figure out where they will work next and raising concerns about what the loss of beds could mean for mothers and babies across Clark County.
Greg Williams, a NICU nurse who has worked in neonatal care for decades and has been at Henderson Hospital for the last couple of years, said employees first learned earlier this spring that a closure was possible. Months later, in August, the closure was confirmed.
“My team at Henderson Hospital is a family. It is one of the best units I have ever worked at,” Williams said.
With the closure approaching, Williams said he and coworkers are trying to continue providing care while also preparing for what comes next…
