LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — From school zone speeders to frantic crosswalks, Clark County School District Police have never been more crucial, according to the newly sworn chief. He admitted every day is a test.
Jeff Clark, CCSDPD chief of police, touted several priorities during a media day at school police headquarters in Henderson. Among his main priorities is increasing citations, traffic stops, and officer training.

“Training is a huge priority for me to ensure that my officers are getting training 12 months a year,” he said. “The way it’s been in past has only been the three months of the summer, which we understand because that’s when school’s not in.”
From Aug. 2025 to May 2026, CCSDPD issued more than 10,000 citations and made over 14,000 traffic stops. Clark said three weeks into the school year they already have seen an increase in those metrics as policing has been stepped up.
