LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Data from the Clark County School District Police Department shows that the majority of the people its officers used force on in the previous school year were black.
The information was released as a result of Assembly Bill 420, which Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo signed into law last year.

CCSDPD’s use-of-force stats showed that during the 2025-2026 school year, its officers used a chemical agent, or pepper spray, 10 times. Eight of those incidents happened on school property, and two of them were at Cheyenne High School.
“As part of the reviews that I’m doing, part of that is to look at and figure out are we using force the right way,” CCSDPD Chief Jeff Clark told 8 News Now after being asked about the data. ”In the use of force, the person involved in the use-of-force dictates the officer’s response. I would have to look at all those very carefully to understand.”…
