LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — From growing up in low-income communities in a small New Mexico town to representing Nevada on one of pageantry’s biggest stages, Mariah Larronde wants young women to know where they start does not have to determine where they end up.
Larronde, a Henderson resident, represented the Silver State at the 99th Miss America competition Sunday in West Palm Beach, Florida.
She was among 52 women representing all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico competing for the Miss America title. Larronde did not advance to the Top 11 during Sunday night’s competition.
