LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — More than 460 firefighters, police officers, EMTs and military personnel gathered Friday morning for the seventh annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower.
Participants went up 108 flights — 1,455 steps in all — to the top of the 1,149-foot tower, the tallest observation tower in the nation.
The event honors the 343 FDNY firefighters who died responding to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Participants carried lanyards bearing the name and photo of a first responder who died on Sept. 11, 2001, according to a news release from Golden Entertainment, owner of The STRAT…
