LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man dressed in black from head to toe kept crossing the street at the same crosswalk on Friday morning, sparking curiosity among neighbors of the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.
The pedestrian was a Henderson police sergeant in the department’s traffic section working as a decoy to help determine which drivers would and would not stop at the crosswalk.

“It’s not a jump out in front of a car and ‘I gotcha moment,'” Sergeant Richard Paul told the 8 News Now Investigators, as he stopped before stepping out into the street and attempted to make eye contact with drivers. “Just because you’re in a crosswalk doesn’t mean it’s the safe thing to do.”
And that was evident on Monday at Paseo Verde Parkway and Desert Shadow Trail as a child in a crosswalk, according to police, was hit by a car. The driver remained at the scene and was cited, police said. The child suffered minor injuries.
