Las Vegas driver charged with murder ‘was trying to beat the light’ in deadly car theft, police say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A driver told a witness he was “trying to beat the light” after allegedly stealing a car with a passenger inside, crashing it and killing him, police said in documents 8 News Now obtained Tuesday.

Harold Allen, 55, faces charges including first-degree murder and kidnapping for the death of Benito Saragosa, 37.

Allen is accused of stealing a vehicle from the parking lot of a Walmart near Charleston and Decatur boulevards on Saturday, April 11, while Saragosa was sitting inside it. Saragosa died after Allen crashed the car into a pole, police said…
