Henderson neighborhood shocked by animal cruelty investigation

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson neighborhood is at the center of an animal cruelty investigation after more than 40 animals were seized from a Henderson home near Boulder Highway and Sunset Road.

Animal protection services reported it was operating as a nonprofit rescue. Neighbors said they had no idea what was happening just steps from their front doors.

“This was my first time ever hearing about it literally, and you would think neighbors would say something,” said neighbor Rassan Urquhart.

On Thursday, animal protection services and law enforcement removed dozens of animals from inside a home on Easter Lily Place.

Urquhart, who lives just a few houses down the street, said the number of animals rescued left many in the neighborhood caught off guard. The animals found within the home included dogs, cats, turtles, birds, and ferrets…
