LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Traffic problems at an elementary school in the east Las Vegas valley are prompting a crossing guard to speak up, expressing concerns that a child may be hit.
Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School is located at 2260 Betty Lane near Carey Avenue and Nellis Boulevard in a residential area. There are multiple signs warning drivers that children are present, but a crossing guard told 8 News Now that drivers ignore them.

“I have to explain to them. It’s the kid you don’t see that you’re going to hit,” the crossing guard told 8 News Now. They declined to be identified out of concern that they won’t have a job next school year.
