Las Vegas weather: Strong winds ease, calmer conditions expected before weekend storm system

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The most intense wind gusts continued to through Southern Nevada overnight, though by Wednesday morning more breezy conditions started rolling over the region, bringing gusts down to 20–30 mph. Gusty conditions are expected to ease even further by early afternoon, before ramping up again through Wednesday evening. Wednesday’s highs will be around 10 degrees cooler in comparison to yesterday, though will be near normal for this time of year.

Wednesday

The wind will gradually diminish heading into the early afternoon hours, though by late afternoon to evening gusts could still reach about 30 mph. The forecast high of 77° in Las Vegas is just a couple of degrees shy of the average high of 80° for this time of year.

Thursday

High 79° with a low of 56°. Sunny skies and lighter wind will bring more pleasant conditions.
