Las Vegas residents share frustration with sewer road work causing delays on Desert Inn Road

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Residents on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley say years of road construction and traffic backups along Desert Inn Road near Cabana Drive have left them frustrated and looking for relief.

“It’s been about four years on and off,” said Ronald Johnson, who lives in the area. “They’ll fix one side, and you’ll get it done, and then come back to the other side, and one side is not completely fixed. … The commute is like 30 minutes to get out of off of Cabana.”

FOX5’s “Cone Zone” visited the area and found heavy delays, including westbound Desert Inn approaching Cabana, where drivers were moving single file through a corridor lined with traffic cones. Along eastbound Desert Inn, traffic crawled toward Theme Road, and no construction crews were visible during the drive.
