When it comes to accessing healthcare and finding the right care Southwest Medical, part of Optum, has some things to keep in mind. Here with more we have Urgent Care Physician, Dr. Ori Devera.
Let’s kind of talk overall. When it comes to accessing the right healthcare for yourself, what are some things that you want people to know?I think ideally, everybody wants to get in to see their primary care doctor. As a big organization, that’s what we strive for is to get you that access to the person that knows you best, but most times if you can’t get in, we have other options for you. I’m in the urgent care, that’s where I spend all of my time. We take care of patients of all ages with all sorts of complaints and we can kind of be that bridge and kind of practice that connected care from your primary care doctor and help get you back to them, or take care of you in that moment and you don’t need to see anybody else.

What does that mean to you and the team?I think that’s really what medicine is all about, is being connected to your patients and to the other sub-specialists. I think, just to highlight what we do at Southwest Medical, I don’t think a lot of people really know how connected we are. I talk to primary care doctors who send patients to me every single day and if I have updates for them, I can message them back right away. If I need to send a patient for a referral, I can do that within our systems and review all of that. It really just enables us to really, from top to bottom, take care of the patient the best way we possibly can…
