LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Collisions involving kids on e-bikes and e-scooters are rising in the Las Vegas Valley, prompting new safety efforts from the City of Henderson.
Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero announced the city’s “Ride Smart. Stay Safe.” campaign for sixth- through 12th-grade students. The event Tuesday was held at Del Webb Middle School, where about a dozen student riders took part in a street-safety training ride.
“We have had many requests for this type of education for our students,” Romero said.
Romero said the program includes guidance from experienced riders and bike safety experts. “We have our professionals out here that know the rules of the road but also know how to take care of those bikes and what is responsible bike riding,” she said…
