Las Vegas man accused of operating illegal online marketplace for stolen merchandise

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police arrested a man accused of operating an illegal online marketplace after finding over $400,000 worth of stolen merchandise in his Las Vegas home, police said.

Roberto Fuentes, 49, faces charges of participating in an organized retail crime theft ring involving more than $10,000, and buying, possessing, and receiving stolen property valued at more than $100,000.

On March 28, officers with LVMPD’s Organized Retail Crimes Section began an operation at various retail stores to identify, detain, and arrest people who attempted to steal high-value merchandise.

Detectives later learned that Fuentes would purchase the stolen items and then resell them through various online platforms, police said…
