Possible armed suspect near Legacy High School leads to lockdown: North Las Vegas Police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Multiple schools in North Las Vegas were placed on lockdown after police responded to an incident involving a reported armed suspect near Legacy High School, according to North Las Vegas police.

On Thursday, North Las Vegas police responded to the area near Legacy High School, located near West Deer Springs Way and North 5th Street, regarding an active incident involving a suspect who they believed to be armed, police said.

The incident started near the Target on 5th Street, and the 215 Beltway, and a foot pursuit occurred, ending near the high school, according to 8 News Now sources.

The man tried to run into the school, hopped a fence into the baseball field where shots were reportedly fired, 8 News Now sources said.

As officers searched for the suspect, nearby schools were “briefly placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution,” NLVPD said…
