Clark County considers closing trail near Boulder Highway to curb encampments

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Part of a southeast Las Vegas Valley trail could be shut down to stop homeless encampments in the area, according to a proposal from one County Commissioner.

The proposal impacts the path that’s designated as an extension of the Flamingo-Arroyo trail: it runs along I-11 South by Sahara Avenue, and continues southbound past Boulder Highway.

County commissioners are set to review the proposal on Tuesday during the Board of Commissioners meeting. According to the agenda, Public Works asked for commissioners to weigh in on the issue: whether to shut down a stretch of the trail by Sandhill Road and Boulder Highway…
