LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On the morning of May 14, a Las Vegas woman felt blindsided by a cancellation fee for a shower remodel. The around $10,000 custom project was a gift for her sister, who was just murdered two days prior.
Hester Johnson, 75, was shot and killed during an alleged robbery while on a routine morning walk with her sister, 78-year-old Iredell Washington, on May 12 near South El Capitan Way and West Flamingo Road. Police arrested 24-year-old Devion Teague in connection with the robbery and shooting that left Johnson dead.
Washington said the shooting followed a gift she revealed to her sister, a new walk-in shower with custom trimmings. To her delight, Johnson gushed over the surprise and asked her sister in disbelief, “Are you really going to get me one?”

“I said yes,” Washington said. “You can pick out whatever you want that’s for you.”…
