A 34-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after police say she chained her 13-year-old daughter to a fence outside in the summer heat for about an hour, then silenced her phone and returned home to watch television because she did not want to be disturbed.
Yashira Maldonado is facing charges of child abuse and child neglect following the incident, which occurred in Hialeah, Florida.
Police Respond to Disturbance Call
According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, officers with the Hialeah Police Department responded at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday to a reported disturbance in the 300 block of West 63rd Street.
